PCB Design Prerequisites
At Twisted Traces, we request our client to provide us with the following:
-
Bill of Materials (BOM): We request our client provide us with a BOM file in excel format, which serves the listing of the components required for PCB design. With the BOM file, we could easily understand application requirements and tolerances required for your PCB design. It simplifies the procurement process by providing a detailed list of the manufacturer name, reference identifiers, descriptions, quantities, and more. There will be a complete datasheet for each circuit, which help us to fulfill client’s requirement efficiently.
-
Board Outline: We need to create a board outline before placing footprints. All you need to do is to provide the Intermediate Data Format (IDF) file, thus, we can easily import that data into our system.
-
Schematic: The PCB design starts with schematics, which will serve as a blueprint for placing the components and laying out the traces on the printed circuit board. We request our clients to provide a complete schematics of your circuit. This will make the PCB design process easier. You can send schematics of your circuit in any of the following formats:
-
PCB123
-
CAD Schematic
-
Altinum
-
Protel
-
Netlist
